Stainless steel belt conveyors

We build belt conveyors for food, beverage and packaging lines. Most of them are sanitary designs in AISI 304 stainless steel, made for washdown areas where the belt is cleaned every shift.

The conveyors below are base designs, quoted to your dimensions. We also build standard, incline, cleated, troughed, curved and round belt conveyors to the layout the line needs.

When to use a belt conveyor

A belt conveyor gives a continuous, closed surface. It is the usual choice for unpackaged food, soft or irregular products, small items and products without a stable base.

Compared with a modular plastic chain, a belt transfers small products over a much tighter end radius and has no hinges where product residue collects. A homogeneous PU belt can be cleaned across its full surface.

A belt conveyor is less suited to tight curves, accumulation and long lines with many transfers. For bottles, cans and other rigid containers, a modular plastic chain conveyor is usually the better choice.

Industries & applications

Belt conveyors move products that need a closed, cleanable surface or a tight transfer between machines.

Packaging and end of line

Cartons, cases and pouches between case packers, checkweighers, metal detectors and palletisers. Stainless or painted frames depending on the area.

Light bulk handling

Troughed and cleated conveyors for granules, pellets and loose product, for example feeding hoppers and process machines.

Dairy and cheese

Cheese blocks, portions and packed dairy products between cutting, packing and labelling.

Bakery and confectionery

Dough pieces, baked goods and confectionery. Knife edge transfers for small products between process machines.

Fruit, vegetables and ready meals

Loose product, trays and packed meals on processing, inspection and packing lines.

Meat, poultry and fish

Raw and packed product between slicers, portioners, weighers and packing machines. Washdown design for daily cleaning.

04

Pre-assembled & tested

Every conveyor is assembled and test-run at our workshop.

Common questions

Yes. We build standard, incline, cleated and troughed belt conveyors for packaging and light bulk handling, on stainless or painted frames. We do not build heavy-duty bulk handling conveyors.

A belt conveyor runs a continuous PU or fabric belt over drums or knife edges. It gives a closed surface and tight transfers for small products. A modular plastic belt is built from plastic modules joined with hinge rods and driven by sprockets.

For general use PVC belts are economical choice. For food production areas food-grade PU is our standard belt and suits most food products. Silicone belts are used for sticky products. We select the belt based on your production enviroment requierments.

A drum motor sits inside the drive drum, with no exposed shaft, coupling or chain to clean. It is our standard on sanitary belt conveyors. For regular use belt conveyors gearmotor is cheaper to use.

Depending on specific application different solutions can be used.
-> Lift up tail for belt release

-> Belt tensioning system with quick release pulleys

-> Belt removal without tools

-> Belt support for cleaning underside of belt

-> CIP nozzles integrated to conveyor frame

Standard lead time is 6-10 weeks for a base design with changes to size and end type. Custom belt conveyors need more engineering time. The full process is described on How to order.
