Description
How it works
This curve conveyor uses a zero tangent belt that is designed for curves. The inner edge of the belt runs on roller bearings, allowing high speeds and loads.
The belt is driven by sprockets (positive drive), so there are no tracking issues. Products keep their original orientation through the turn.
Information required for quotation
Every curve is quoted separately. To quote the actual figure we need the following information.
-> Product dimensions, weight and the material type that sits on the belt.
-> Direction of the turn, left or right, seen in the direction of travel.
-> Infeed and outfeed heights.
-> What feeds the curve and what it discharges to, and which transfer ends you need: no rollers, plastic rollers, stainless rollers or driven rollers.
-> Required throughput in units per minute.
-> Product and ambient temperatures, and whether the area is washed down.
-> Side guides, supports and control options.

Characteristics
Strengths
- No straight sections before or after the curve, for a compact footprint
- Product orientation is maintained through the turn
- Modular plastic belt is much easier to replace than a PVC curve belt
Limitations
- Not for bulk materials and abrasive materials (anything that can jam belt hinges)
- Not ideal for open food contact applications, as the chain hinges are harder to clean than a solid belt. Better suitable for packaged products in the food industry
- Higher operating noise than a standard PVC belt curve
