Recirculating accumulation table

Article no.: 3037

Mass flow accumulation table for cans, bottles and jars. Product passes straight through in normal running, and recirculates when the line downstream backs up.

  • Two chain fields running in opposite directions
  • Infeed can be on any side

Description

How it works

The recirculating accumulation table is a mass flow buffer that keeps the line running through short downstream stops. Two chain fields run in opposite directions under a loop of angled guide rails. Containers either cross the table and leave, or turn at the diverter and circulate until the line takes them again.

Normal production

When the line downstream runs normally, containers travel straight across the table from infeed to outfeed. The table adds nothing to the flow.

Recirculation

When downstream capacity is full or the outfeed gate closes, the diverter guides containers into the loop. They circulate around the table in an oval path and accumulate without back line pressure and without stopping. Upstream equipment keeps running until table is full.

Single filing

At the outfeed the containers are brought back into single file and handed to the next conveyor. A motorised roller at the outfeed reduces the risk of jamming on containers that need it.

Configurator price includes

-> Table assembly AISI304
-> Low friction plastic chains
-> Gear motors
-> Assembly and test run at our workshop

Not included

-> Motorised roller at the outfeed. It reduces the risk of jamming and is not needed for every container.
-> Pneumatic outfeed closing system.
-> Custom 1+1 infeed and outfeed modules to match an existing line.
-> Motor wiring, sensors and control. We can add a control panel to your order on request.
-> Installation on site unless agreed otherwise.

Information required for quotation

The configurator above covers width and length. To quote the actual figure we also need the following.

-> Container type, diameter, height and weight, and whether it is full or empty.
-> Line speed in containers per minute.
-> Required buffer capacity, in containers or in minutes of line output.
-> Available floor space and infeed height

Typical applications
  • Buffering empty or filled bottles or cans before packing or downstream handling
  • Buffer between process equipment and packaging equipment to allow changeover time
Build options
Size Width up to 3000 mm. Max lenght depends on the load carried
Frame material options Frame AISI 304 as standard, painted steel or AISI 316 on request.
Guide rails Guide rails and fill level sensors to suit the container.
Chain material Plastic low friction chains
Chain or belt Depends on application. Chains will allow for easyier internal access for cleaning.
Gearmotors Nord Drivesystems standard. SEW-Eurodrive quoted separately
Food-grade option Sanitary package with NSF H1 registered oil and washdown surface protection as an option.
Characteristics

Strengths

  • Simple and reliable design
  • Infeed can be on any side. This allows for better placement in room

Limitations

  • Outfeed single filing speed is limited
  • Not suitable for products with high center of gravity that can tip easily
  • The centre chains wear unevenly, because they carry recirculating product more of the time.
